The history of the Hacienda San Pedro Nohpat dates back to the beginning of the year six hundred, according to the older Mayans in the village. They say that the hacienda was one of the first built near Merida. The history of these early years is not known, but the architecture of the hacienda has its own history. The magnificent double arch of the main entrance depicts more than two thousand head of cattle, a thousand per arch, grazing on the lands controlled by the hacienda.
The spacious walls, sprinklers and irrigation systems reveal the additional quantities of various livestock, orchards, grains and vegetables produced by the hacienda... the machinery building tells the story of the estate with the processing and production of green gold, a plant that produces the history of the hacienda in the 20th century.
